Are you a Christian?
Living in a country with a Christian heritage, having Christian parents, or even believing there is a God does not make you a Christian. A Christian is someone who has made a decision to place their trust in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said that he alone was "the way, the truth and the life" (John 14 v.6)
Does it matter if I am a Christian?
Christians believe that everyone is separated from God by their selfish actions, referred to in the Bible as sin. All those who disobey God, in any way, are separated from Him.
The Bible states that this is everyone's problem since "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3 v.23)
What can I do about it ?
Nothing! Nothing we can say or do, no promises we might make, are sufficient to bridge the gap between ourselves and God. Jesus bridged the gap for us, paying the debt of our accumulated misdeeds against God in the moment of his crucifixion.
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5 v.21)
If you believe this, pray this prayer: "Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I know you died on the cross for me. I now turn from my sins and ask you to forgive me. I now invite my heart and life. I now trust you as Savior and follow you as Lord. Thank you for saving me. Amen."
